BOOK NOW →Hotel Morales was founded in 2007 as a small guesthouse for guests of our travel agency, Peruvian Andes Adventures, with 8 rooms and a terrace overlooking the Cordillera Blanca. Over time demand grew and we expanded with a new building that added 19 rooms, moving from guesthouse to 3-star hotel. Since 2017 we have operated with full DIRCETUR – Áncash certifications and permits.
We combine family hospitality, high-level mountain logistics and local tradition: privileged panoramic views of the Cordillera Blanca (including Huascarán), certified UIAGM/AGMP mountain guides for real technical advice, secure gear storage and flexible schedules for early departures, and a technical-rest environment with premium beds and high-pressure showers.
At Pasaje Ucanan 132, by the plazuela of the traditional José Olaya neighborhood and behind the UGELP, in Huaraz, Áncash — a historic, quiet area of cobblestone streets, just a 10-15 minute walk from the Plaza de Armas. The airport is 40 minutes away and the bus terminal 8-9 minutes by taxi.
We're an ideal base for the Cordillera Blanca circuit — Laguna Churup, Laguna 69, Laguna Parón, Nevado Pisco and the Santa Cruz trek — as well as the Cordillera Huayhuash circuit (8 to 12 days). Also nearby are Chavín de Huántar, Nevado Pastoruri, and José Olaya Street itself, with its weekend Andean food fairs.
Picturesque, safe and relaxed. We're on the pedestrian street of the José Olaya neighborhood, a heritage-rich area of adobe houses and cobblestone streets that survived the 1970 earthquake. Being slightly elevated, the hotel enjoys open views of the Cordillera Blanca in a noise-free setting, ideal for rest before mountain activities.
A full breakfast with views of the Cordillera Blanca and Huascarán, expert mountain advice from certified UIAGM/AGMP guides, secure storage for technical gear, flexible scheduling for early departures, and the cultural immersion of José Olaya Street, with its weekend artisan and food fairs.
Our guests consistently highlight the attention and service — recognized as No. 1 on TripAdvisor —, the impressive views of the Cordillera Blanca, expert mountain advice, quality of rest (comfortable beds, high-pressure showers, immaculate cleanliness), and the quiet, historic setting of the José Olaya neighborhood.
Over 30 years of experience and complete knowledge of the area, professional UIAGM/AGMP guides, 3-star infrastructure designed for a mountaineer's technical recovery, a historic location with privileged views in the only colonial neighborhood that survived the 1970 earthquake, and specialized logistics: gear storage, flexible scheduling and expedition coordination all in one place.
"We are very happy for our stay at Morales guest house. Caring, friendly staff. Wonderful breakfast with incredible view. Extremely valuable tips from the owner Isao who helped us make the best choices for mountain climbs. Highly recommend to mountaineers, trekkers and families."
"A hotel just like home. Breakfast was made to order, delicious and natural. My wife caught a bit of a cold, and they made us soup that had her feeling better by the next day. The hotel arranged several excursions and taxis for us."
"I felt very safe at this hotel — traveling solo can be a bit worrying when arriving somewhere new. The rooms are very clean, and breakfast was excellent with a wonderful view. If I return to Huaraz, I'll definitely stay here again."
"We loved absolutely everything about our stay. Morales felt like an oasis, the perfect resting place between two exhausting mountain expeditions. They were helpful with local activities and the breakfast is absolutely incredible. I can't recommend staying here enough!"
